MAA - A Message from the Middletown Board of Directors
by MAA Webmaster posted 08/14/2020

MIDDLETOWN ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION

IMPORTANT INFORMATION -- EFFECTIVE FRIDAY, AUGUST 14TH, 2020

To all our MAA volunteers, families, and friends,

During these times, we all continue to deal with decisions around school, work, and co-curricular activities for our youth. We have been in contact with the Bucks County Department of Health, EPYSA (Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Association), as well as our State Representatives and we maintain a commitment to continue to move forward with our Fall Soccer Season. MAA is now in preparations to get the fall soccer season started including team configuration and game schedules which are now being coordinated. In addition, we also have added a Fall Soccer COVID-19 Safety Plan to our existing COVID-19 Page that can be accessed from our website.  Please remember that the safety and well-being of our MAA families and friends are at the forefront of every decision we make. We are taking the guidance and recommendations of the local health departments and government officials very seriously. Many of these organizations and officials are in disagreement with Governor Wolf's latest recommendations regarding youth sports. We have come up with a plan that we believe will allow us to have this season while maintaining caution and extreme safety and EPYSA has officially sanctioned Youth Soccer for our area.

Please see the EPYSA message here.

Our plan for fall soccer needs to be flexible as we realize our environment, along with recommendations around youth sports, are changing with little notice, so your patience with us is appreciated. We also appreciate everyone's personal views on playing youth sports during this pandemic. MAA understands that you may not be willing to have your child play at this time and we respect your choice and opinion. The MAA board continues to meet several times each month to adopt new policies and safety procedures that will be used for the foreseeable future. Thank you again for being part of our family and all are welcome to join us for Fall Soccer at MAA! We have extended online registration through August 16th.

Sincerely,
The MAA Board of Directors
